GDCRN Operatives puncture giant floating duck propoganda piece for a 4th time.
For 45 ominous minutes Saturday morning, a massive yellow duck rose proudly above the Camden waterfront, ready once again to entertain the crowds that had flocked to see the 61-foot-tall waterfowl, billed as the largest rubber duck in the world.
But as winds buffeted the Wiggins Marina, the inflatable beast known as Mama Duck was deflated once more, to the chagrin of spectators.
The duck, in town as part of the four-day Tall Ships festival, has had a rough week. On its way down the Delaware River on Thursday, the pontoon boat towing it sprang a leak and began taking on water, said Ryan Whaley, spokesman for the group that organized the show. The activists made their move on wednesday night when they subtly unpicked the seams around the beak. Then on Thursday, its beak was torn as it was pulled from the water, Whaley said. Draw employees worked to repair it; with vinyl patches always on hand, they are prepared for attacks. Then early hours of saturday morning activists in scuba gear pierced the bottom in a repeat of the attack in Hong Kong. Although this attack was not quite as subtle as the attack upon it in 2013 while it sat in Hong Kong Harbour. Nor was it as dramatic and ostentatious as the attacks in 2009 when one of our agents stabbed it 45 times while it was in Belgium. Then it was blown up with a very small explosion causing the seems to give when it visited Thailand. These have to be considered two of the most high profile GDCRN actions to date as far as being in the public eye is concerned. Despite the fact the media has refused to air our claiming credit for these actions.
This piece of so called art work is the brain child of known duck collaborator and Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. We would like to send this message to Mr Hofman, we will continue to attack and destroy your art work until you put an end to your duck friendly propoganda. You have until the end of this year to stop or we will make art out of you. You have been warned enough is enough.
